Life Changing Lessons Learned During My Time In BARCELONA!

Most of us have mapped out our entire lives out, however many of us are currently living a life that is very different to what we had planned. Growing up we were led to believe that our future needed to be experienced in a particular chronological order.

  • University

  • Successful career

  • Buy a home

  • Marriage & children

Do any of these points sound familiar? This is not a bad plan, however, let's be real life sometimes does not always go according to plan. Moving to Barcelona was never my intention along with teaching English as a second language, it never crossed my mind once. Although I think there is nothing wrong with having goals, we should also be open to accepting that life can take a different turn, making the most of the life you have now and enjoying the present rather than anxiously living unhappily about what you could have been at a specific time.

BREAK FREE FROM COMFORT ZONE

Adult stability can include a permanent job, home, however, there are several people who live this life and are still miserable! breaking out from your comfort zone may be the best thing that you can do. You will never know your capability if you only stick to familiar surroundings.

RISKS

Taking risks, regardless of the outcome,

is a growth experience, even if you make mistakes or do not get it right the first time you can learn and grow.

There is no such thing as “failing ”

if you learn something you have not “FAILED” the first attempt in learning you will become resilient and prepared for whatever comes your way.

CHALLENGE YOURSELF

Challenging yourself pushes you to dip into and utilize your untapped knowledge and resources. You have no idea what you are made of unless you venture outside of your familiar world. New challenges are a great way to renew your brain and keep it working, you might discover something you love! I never thought I would ever live and work abroad (twice which I loved )I highly recommend it will change your life for the better! Living abroad has inspired me a lot to do things that I never thought I could do! I started this English teaching website and I formed relationships with amazing like-minded people from all over the globe.

Anyway,my point is that if your original plan is unsuccessful,it is not the end of the world, there is another life even better waiting for you, you just have to be open to change

  • Never give up

  • Take risks

  • Challenge yourself

  • Try something new

  • Build your confidence

  • Network with like minded people
